Outdoor Learning

STEM programs designed to help kids learn through exploration, curiosity, and real-world experiences. Each program blends science, math, and systems thinking in natural environments, creating meaningful learning that feels engaging, thoughtful, and developmentally appropriate.

For families in southern Maine, this is THE BEST outdoor learning possible for elementary aged students. Our 9 month micro school for homeschool families is a great opportunity for top science and math learning, but also opportunities to build community with other students and work with qualified teachers who have a clear vision for outdoor education and exploratory learning.

Outdoor Microschool

We are now accepting applications for our September 2026 - May 2027 outdoor STEM microschool for homeschoolers. We have programs for students ages 4-6, 7-10 and 11-13 and options for one or two days per week depending on age.

School Break Classes

Weeklong classes at Eco-STEM is a deeper dive into outdoor learning — with extended time for exploration, collaboration, and discovery.

Programs meet from 9:00am - 1:00pm each day,
Monday through Thursday each week for ages 7-11.

Outdoor Learning.
Real Understanding.
Curious Kids.

Eco-STEM Adventures is an outdoor STEM program designed for families who believe learning should be active, meaningful, and connected to the natural world.

We use nature as the classroom — blending science, math, and systems thinking through hands-on exploration, investigation, and play. No worksheets. No busywork. Just thoughtful learning that sticks.

What Makes Us Different

At Eco-STEM, kids don’t just learn about science and math — they experience them.

Our programs are built around:

  • Curiosity and questioning

  • Real ecosystems and real problems

  • Movement, observation, and experimentation

  • Learning that feels calm, joyful, and engaging

We believe deep understanding grows when kids are given space to explore, wonder, and think.
